What hosting package do I choose?
The hosting package depends on several factors
content, data transfer, disk space.
See how much disk space you need. The more content, such as pictures and movies you want on your website, the more space you need. For a simple website 2000 MB of disk space is enough, and depending on how much content you add, it can amount to 20.000MB.

An assessment of your data traffic is also useful to know. This has to do with how many visitors you expect to visit your website and how much content there is on your website. For example if you have a web shop with thousands of different product images and a lot of visitors, you have much more traffic than a site with mostly text and 100 visitors per month.
An unlimited amount of data transfer is based on a Fair Use Policy.

Finally, it is useful to see how many email boxes you want to use, this varies by hosting package.

And remember: if you have chosen a particular hosting package, you can always upgrade your package if you want more space, data transfer or e-mail boxes.

What type of hosting to choose?
Linux hosting is used for a variety of content management systems, online shops and blogs. Think Joomla !, Drupal and Magento. Linux hosting is suitable for dynamic websites in PHP, whether or not combined with MySQL. Linux hosting packages are based on open source software and the costs are lower compared to Windows hosting packages. Are you in doubt between Linux and Windows? If your site does not use scripts like ASP, ASP.NET and / or MySSQL than a Linux hosting package is enough.

Windows web hosting is mainly used for the techniques ASP, ASP.NET and FrontPage.
